Applying for A Glynn Family Honors Program Summer Grant

Grants for May-August 2012

Deadline:
Monday, March 05, 2012
309 O'Shaughnessy Hall

Submit on Common Application: https://urapply.nd.edu beginning February 1, 2012

Activities eligible for support include travel (transportation and modest living costs) for library work or data collection, summer stipend to allow a student to conduct a research project on campus or elsewhere ($1,500/month), or travel to present results at a conference. Ineligible costs include supplies or equipment. Preference may be given to projects directed by Notre Dame faculty, and to projects for which partial financial support is available from other sources. Maximum awards will be up to$4,500; the mean award is expected to be considerably smaller. Awards will be taxable.

Eligible students are current first-years, sophomores, or juniors in The Glynn Family Honors Program. All Glynn students should consider the Glynn program as their primary source of funding for summer research. The applications will consist of the following:

1. Common Application cover page completed on https://urapply.nd.edu

2. A one to two page (typed, single-spaced, 12 point font) proposal narrative briefly describing the goals and importance of the research project

3. Budget indicating how Honors Program funds and funds from other sources would be spent.

4. A letter of support from your research advisor. (Once you submit your proposal on the Common Application, your recommender will get instructions to submit on-line).

5. A budget justification page. While the Glynn Family Honors Program does not require a budget justification page, the Common Application requires that one be uploaded. Applicants can merely upload a one-page pdf that states “Budget justification not needed”

The Common Application will have instructions for uploading required documents. https://urapply.nd.edu
