About

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
-Aristotle

The Glynn Family Honors Program exemplifies the culture of excellence at Notre Dame. It brings talented undergraduates into sustained and life-changing contact with distinguished scholars who inspire and prepare them for premier graduate and doctoral programs, for successful careers, and for lives of service.

Student around a table

The most important academic decision a gifted high school student makes is whether to attend a top research university or an elite liberal arts college. Glynn Scholars, the first class of which was welcomed to the University of Notre Dame in the fall of 2007, enjoy the distinct benefits of each.

If you are a student who displays extraordinary intelligence, shows broad interests in both the humanities and sciences, and demonstrates outstanding accomplishment, the Glynn Family Honors Program may be a great fit for you!

As a Glynn Scholar, you will enjoy an intense academic experience. You will attend small, discussion-based classes, undertake original research projects, and be mentored by a select group of outstanding faculty. In short, you will take advantage of the very best Notre Dame, one of the nation's premier universities, has to offer.

The Glynn Family Honors Program guarantees students at least one summer's worth of research funding. Many students use the grant to enhance the quality of their required senior thesis, which is guided by a faculty advisor.

Special seminars form the signature core of the Glynn Family Honors Program. These small classes are taught by Notre Dame's best scholar-teachers who create a learning environment that is at once nurturing and challenging.
