It's been a busy week for Glynn Scholars old and new. On Saturday, a new class of 105 exceptional first year students arrived on campus to join the Glynn Program. This cohort of Glynn Scholars is the Program's most diverse ever, hailing from 29 states and 14 countries. Scholars and their parents met with the directors for an orientation session last Saturday afternoon and reconvened Tuesday night to discuss the Summer Read. For over two hours, Glynn first-years compared notes and debated issues in Never Let Me Go, Just Mercy, and Why We Sleep with the help of an inspiring group of Glynn sophomores and juniors. On Thursday, new and returning Glynn Scholars convened with Glynn faculty and staff for the annual Welcome Picnic in O'Shaughnessy Hall, followed by a performance of Romeo and Juliet at the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. Welcome, and welcome back, Glynn Scholars!
