More than a curriculum. A community!

Glynn Scholars gather daily in the newly renovated Glynn Scholars Lounge in O'Shaughnessy Hall. The lounge features coffee and bagels, afternoon snacks, a well-stocked library, and free printing. The Scholars' Lounge is a place to meet friends, join a study group, attend a workshop, prepare for classes, or check in with one of the Directors.

We offer scholars as much support as they'd like in their time at Notre Dame. The directors hold regular office hours in the lounge; a mentoring program matches first-year scholars with juniors and seniors in the program; and we organize frequent workshops on study abroad, research support, grant writing, graduate school applications, career planning, and more.

Each year the program hosts a series of Glynn Visiting Scholars—distinguished academics and professionals who come to Notre Dame to share their expertise with Glynn Scholars at public lectures and over meals and other informal meetings.

The program organizes cultural outings throughout the year, from our annual trip to Stratford, Ontario, to attend plays at the Shakespeare Festival to a winter weekend in Chicago, a Christmas mass and dinner, winter formal, and Commencement celebrations.

We are proud to partner with Next Step Learning, a South-Bend based literacy tutoring program that matches Glynn Scholars with local elementary students learning to read. Learn more about this important initiative here.

I made some of my best friends in Glynn, who all pushed me to think outside of my normal ways of thinking. The classes also really pushed me academically, and made all my other classes look easy. Samuel Delmer '22
